Collaborative Time
Another art teacher and I get together quite often and most of what results in our conversation is growth. Not just new ideas and additional ways of doing projects, but serious growth as far as an educator. I remember my first questions towards seasoned art teachers were so geared to the surface of a problem, when looking back now, I have grown. We all reflect on our teaching at one time or another and are constantly trying to make our projects better, more focused on content and geared toward student understanding and progress. Collaborative time, even with those you work in other fields is an essential part of growth as an educator.
